NJMVC Pilots Enhanced Digital Driver License

Mar 04, 2011

Raymond Martinez, Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC), recently announced that the NJMVC is piloting a new Enhanced Digital Driver License (EDDL), which will replace the older version of New Jersey’s digitized licenses (DDL). The new driver licenses will have similar security features to the existing licenses, including ghost images, holograms and microprinting, but the personal information has been rearranged on the EDDL. Dealership personnel should be advised that EDDLs are being phased in. DDL documents will remain in circulation and are considered valid until they expire.
