Michael McGuire Assumes NJ CAR Chairmanship

Michael McGuire, dealer principal of McGuire Chevrolet Cadillac in Newton, New Jersey assumed the NJCAR Chairmanship, effective November 1, 2010. He succeeds Wayne Hileman, who now serves as NJ CAR Budget & Finance Chairman.

Michael is a third generation Dealer Principal. Both of his grandfathers were GM dealers, owners of McGuire Chevrolet in North Bergen and Cerami Pontiac in Paramus, respectively. Michael’s father and uncles worked in the industry as well. In 1982, his father moved out on his own and purchased J.R. Roof Chevrolet Oldsmobile Cadillac in Newton, which is now McGuire Chevrolet Cadillac. Michael attended Northwood Institute in Midland, MI, but returned home to work in the dealership. He graduated from NADA’s Dealer Candidate Academy and has been working full time in his family’s store since 1992. Michael and his brother, Sean, took over the store in 1994, following the unexpected passing of their father. Michael has been married for 22 years to his wife Maureen and has two daughters, Kelly and Katie. They live in Sparta. Other Senior Officers for the 2010-2011 Association year are: Vice Chairman William Kundert, Jr. of Kundert Motors, Inc. in Hasbrouck Heights; Secretary Mark Pellegrino of Pellegrino Chevrolet in Westville; and Treasurer James T. Botsacos of James Toyota in Flemington. NJCAR wishes Michael and the rest of the Executive Leadership the best of luck as they take the reins of NJCAR for the coming year.
