New Jersey New Retail Car & Light Truck Sales Jump 20% in First Half of 2010

Through the end of July, total registrations of new retail car and light trucks in New Jersey were up 19.6% compared to the same period in 2009, according to the latest New Jersey Auto Retailing Report. This increase is nearly three times the national increase of 6.9%, which spells good things for many New Jersey dealers.Domestic brands are up 6.5%, European brands up 9.2%, Japanese brands up 25.9% and Korean brands up a whopping 54.5% over the same seven months last year. Out of 39 brands measured, 23 had increased registrations (or sales) of 13.5 % over the past seven months, compared to the same time period last year. Conversely, 13 brands saw a decrease in registrations, but this includes two brands (Pontiac and Saturn) that are no longer being manufactured.
