Feb 27, 2026

On February 26th, NJ CAR proudly held an event at Route 22 Toyota to celebrate the most recent graduates of the Coalition’s Technician Advancement Program (TAP).

With the help of the New Jersey Department of Labor’s (NJDOL) PACE grant, TAP is set to host classes throughout the Garden State to help meet the deficit of approximately 12,500 automotive technicians in New Jersey.

NJ CAR would like to thank Chris Tropiano, Vice President of Bay Ridge Automotive Management (BRAM) as well as General Manager Alex Cancela and Compliance Director Howard Newman for hosting this incredible event and the Coalition’s most recent TAP class for the past 18 weeks.

Speakers at the event included Lt. Governor Dr. Dale Caldwell; Assemblyman Michael VeneziaMichael Blatt, State Director at the U.S. Department of Labor; Chris Tropiano, VP Bay Ridge Automotive Management; Dr. Jennifer Antoni, South Orange School District Director of Guidance Counseling & Social Work; NJ CAR Chairman Andrew Shapiro; NJ CAR President Laura Perrotta; and NJ CAR Workforce Development Manager & TAP Coordinator Brandon Jurakhan.

Congratulations to the graduating students and our future New Jersey auto technicians.
