It is with deep sadness and a sense of loss that we report the passing of Sam C. DiFeo, a former New Jersey TIME Magazine Quality Dealer Award (TMQDA) winner. A resident of Spring Lake , Sam passed away on May 5; he is survived by his wife, Julia; his sons, Joseph, Denis and Samuel; a daughter, Cecilia Iannaccone; sisters, Genevieve Luisi, Esther Blasucci, Grace Balesteri, Yolanda DelGaizio, Vivien Tartaglia and Millicent Cappadonna; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Sam DiFeo began his automobile business in 1945, when he purchased a used car dealership in Jersey City . Over the years he grew his business to include many dealerships around the State, including Hudson Toyota, Park Pontiac, J&F Oldsmobile, DiFeo VW, J&S Ford, and DiFeo Subaru and Mitsubishi.
He established scholarships at St. Peters Prep and St. Peters College and supported numerous charities, including the United Way , Boys and Girls Clubs of Hudson County, the Dante Alighieri Society, and the Jersey City Police Department. Sam was also installed as a Knight of Malta and was inducted into the Jersey City Circle of Honor.
