Greyson Hannigan Named NJ CAR Executive Vice President & Chief of Staff

NJ CAR is proud to announce Greyson P. Hannigan, Esq., has been named Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff at the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers (NJ CAR). In this new role, Greyson will serve as an advisor to NJ CAR President Laura Perrotta, helping to define, communicate, and execute the Coalition’s strategic vision and oversee critical cross-functional departments within the organization.

“Greyson has been an integral part of NJ CAR’s continued support of New Jersey’s $45 billion auto retail industry, made up of 520+ franchised new car and truck dealers who directly employ more than 37,000 people” said Perrotta. “He has worked closely with me and many other senior staff members to expand the services we offer our dealer members and will continue to be an incredible asset to both me and NJ CAR in this new well-deserved role.”

Greyson has more than 25 years of diverse legal experience. Joining NJ CAR in 2021, he previously served as Senior Vice President of Legal & Regulatory Affairs, where he provided dealers with legal and compliance assistance focused on franchise law; taxation; motor vehicle; banking & insurance; wage & hour; other employment law matters; advertising; consumer affairs; and other regulations.

Prior to joining NJ CAR, Greyson served as Chief of Staff & Assistant Corporation Counsel in the City of Newark’s Law Department, advising the city regarding Contracts; Labor & Employment Law; and the day-to-day drafting of legislation. He previously served as an Assistant Prosecutor in both Essex and Passaic Counties; Assistant County Counsel and County Adjuster in Passaic County; and was also a solo practitioner focusing on Real Estate, Criminal Defense, Parental Representation, and Immigration Law. Greyson also served in an elective office as a Passaic County Commissioner.

Greyson earned his bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University and attended the Washington Center Internships & Academic Seminars in Washington D.C., where he interned with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency – Office of Air and Radiation. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers Law School – Newark, as well as a Legal Education Certificate (LEC) from the Norman Manley Law School in Kingston, Jamaica.
