Update on Status of Funds Available For EV Rebates
The $60 million allocated for the Charge Up New Jersey electric vehicle incentive program for fiscal years 2022-23 is drawing near an end. Currently, $8 million of available program funding is left.
No closing date has been set, as of yet. The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) will send out another communication when available funds are down to $4 million and a final email when current funding is nearly all spent. This final communication will give all program participants 24-hours notice that the program is being paused. Any eligible electric vehicles ordered, purchased, or leased on or before the announced closing date will qualify for a rebate. Dealerships will have 14 days to submit paperwork after that date.
We encourage all applicants to submit their rebate forms as soon as possible so that funds can be reserved. You can also check the real-time available funding status on the Charge Up New Jersey website.
