NJ CAR Hosts Webinar On Critical Accounting Issues Explained

NJ CAR’s Office Manager/ Controller Workshop, typically a full-day, live event, has been cancelled this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Coalition has chosen to break the training up into several FREE webinar modules. The second module, Critical Accounting Issues Explained, was held on Thursday, August 20, 2020. Topics covered include:

  • The Future of Dealership Accounting: Big Data & Beyond, presented by Ken Rosenfield and Allen Ginsberg (Rosenfield & Co.)- A look into the current trends and future of the automotive industry accounting. Ken will discuss ways that dealerships are changing the way they operate their business, taking a deep dive into the data contained inside DMS systems to unearth trends, obstacles and comparative metrics. Participants will learn better efficiencies and ways to customize your data and get a handle on new ways to run your operations.
  • How To Prepare For A Sales Tax Audit?, presented by Ellen Kara and Tom Walsh (Citrin Cooperman)- Prepare yourself for a sales tax audit and learn about the many items you have never thought were taxable.
  • What You Need To Know About Unclaimed Property?, presented by John Noonan (Withum Smith + Brown)- In the past few years, several dealerships have been subjected to unclaimed property audits and many remain unaware of what they are required to do.
  • PP Loan Forgiveness, presented by Lou Young (Withum Smith + Brown)- The latest information regarding Paycheck Protection programs loan forgiveness.
