Two Electric Vehicle Bills Advance In New Jersey Senate

Mar 08, 2018

The Senate Environment and Energy Committee released two bills on Tuesday, March 6, aimed at increasing the use of electric vehicles in New Jersey. S1975 would direct the state Department of Environmental Protection and Board of Public Utilities to establish programs that would put at least 330,000 electric vehicles on the road by 2025, and install at least 600 public fast chargers by 2020. The other bill, S606, would require municipalities to plan for an electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The bills now head to the full New Jersey Senate for consideration.
