Richard A. DeSilva, Sr. Begins Tenure As NADA Director for New Jersey

Richard A. “Rick” DeSilva, Sr., owner of Liberty Hyundai, Liberty Kia and Liberty Subaru, began his tenure as National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Director for New Jersey last week at the NADA Convention in New Orleans. He succeeds Marcy Maguire, of Windsor Nissan, who served three successful terms as New Jersey’s NADA Director

Rick opened his first dealership (Subaru) in 1977, adding Hyundai in 2003 and Kia in 2016. His sons, Rick DeSilva, Jr. (current NJ CAR Chairman) and Mike DeSilva, a member of NJ CAR’s Board of Trustees, serve as President and CEO of the dealerships.Rick is a past Chairman of NJ CAR as well as past Chairman of the American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA), which represents more than 10,000 international nameplate dealers across the country.

He is a recipient of the TIME Magazine Quality Dealer Award (now the TIME Dealer of the Year Award), as well as AIADA’s All Star Dealer Award and has appeared in Capitol Hill press conferences, as well as on ABC, CNN, FOX and MSNBC as an automobile industry professional. Rick is active in many community and philanthropic organizations including: supporting the March of Dimes, DARE, Pilots and Paws and Community Blood Services Blood Bank.
