September 7, 2016Effective BDC Managers Workshop

This Workshop will teach managers strategies and methods to manage the activities of the BDC Department including training techniques, goal setting and policies to hold your BDC team accountable. BDC Managers will learn how to:

•Interview and evaluate the right candidates for the BDC;•Establish practical strategies to get outstanding results;•Set goals, reward good performance and handle poor performers;•Motivate, delegate work and deal with difficult employee situations;•Train new employees to be ready for live calls;•Develop effective processes that will work for your dealership; and•Inspect what is expected through LIVE Internet and phone shop.

The Workshop costs $229 per person (NJ CAR Dealer Members) and will be held from 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at the DoubleTree Hilton (700 Hope Road, Eatontown, NJ 07724). Lunch, refreshments and all course materials are included in the registration fee.

September 15, 2016AFIP Certification Prep

The national AFIP Certification Program provides a first step toward showing customers and peers you are a skilled professional. This course provides the tools and education necessary to keep your dealership compliant with the rapidly-changing State and federal regulations. Learn about the regulations that apply to the in-dealership sales process, and receive a professional designation of a Certified Professional in Financial Services (CPFS).

The Seminar costs $199 per person (NJ CAR Dealer Members) and will be held from 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM on Thursday, September 15 at Genova Burns (141 West Front Street, Suite 130, Red Bank, NJ 07701). AFIP Certification (including study materials) are required for the Workshop and can be purchased through NJ CAR. Lunch and refreshments are included in the registration fee.

September 16, 2016BDC Sales Workshop

September 23, 2016AFIP Certification Review & Exam

The AFIP Certification Exam will be proctored and will include a two-hour review session prior to taking the Exam. AFIP Certification (including study materials) are required for the Review/Exam and can be purchased through NJ CAR.

NOTE: F&I PRACTITIONERS, CERTIFIED TWO OR MORE YEARS AGO, MUST BECOMESENIOR CERTIFIED OR THEY WILL LOSE THEIR AFIP CERTIFICATION STATUS.

October 13, 2016Wage & Hour Law Workshop

This Workshop will focus on issues auto retailers must wrestle with to ensure compliance with complicated and sometimes conflicting federal and State wage and hour laws. We will begin with a quick overview of some basic wage and hour concepts and then move right into the issues specific to your industry. We will also cover the most common wage and hour misconceptions that often lead to expensive litigation or a Department of Labor investigation. We will then explain how wage and hour litigation works and why you want to do everything within your power to avoid this type of litigation. Finally, we will walk you through the typical Department of Labor investigation and offer tips for dealing with compliance issues that frequently arise during the investigation.
