Once again NJ CAR will be sponsoring two student technicians in the National Student Technical Competition sponsored by the Greater New York Auto Dealers Association.This year’s event will be held at the Jacob Javitz Center on March 29-30, 2005. This year’s team, designated “Team Honda,” is comprised of Joshua Martinez and Dell Bowden who are seniors at the Atlantic County Institute of Technology (ACIT).Joshua spent last summer as the AYES intern at Marty Sussman Honda while Dell served his internship at Chapman Ford, both in Pleasantville, NJ.The ACIT instructor, Curt Silver, credits much of their success on the experience they gained during their employment and training at those dealerships. Selected on the basis of their scholastic achievement and the results of a written ASE examination, both Josh and Dell are excellent examples of the type of students who are seeking careers in automotive technology today.
