John Manganelli Assumes NJ CAR Chairmanship

John Manganelli, dealer principal of Union Buick GMC, Inc. in Union, New Jersey, assumed the NJ CAR Chairmanship, effective November 1, 2014. He succeeds Eric Nielsen as Chairman. John is a 40-year veteran of the retail automotive industry in New Jersey and first joined the NJCAR Executive Committee in 2009 as Regional Vice President–Northern Region II. John started retailing cars in 1975, working at his father’s dealership in Elizabeth. He and his brother purchased the store in 1991 and added a Buick store two years later, merging the two and creating Koplin Pontiac Buick Volvo. In 1996, John moved his store to its current location on Route 22 in Union and it was renamed Union Buick GMC. John added a Summit, NewJersey Chevrolet store in 2005, but sold it three years later. In addition to his NewJersey location, John operates a Chevrolet and Saab store in Brooklyn, New York along with his son, Rocco.Other Senior Officers for the 2014-2015 association year are: Vice Chairman Lawrence W.Kull (Burns Kull Auto Group, Marlton), Secretary Richard A. DeSilva, Jr. (Liberty Subaru, Emerson) and Treasurer Robert J.
