Richard Kull of the Burns-Kull Automotive Group, was awarded the American International Automobile Dealers Association’s (AIADA) Lifetime Achievement Award.Mr. Kull, a member of the AIADA for more than 30 years and a former chairman of the organization, was presented the award at AIADA’s 35th Annual Meeting and Luncheon held at the Riverside Hilton in New Orleans.Mr. Kull began his career as an automobile salesman, rising quickly through the ranks until, after only 10 years, he opened his first dealership.Today, Burns-Kull Automotive Group of New Jersey is comprised of seven dealerships, including Toyota and Scion of Vineland, RK Chevy-Cadillac, RK Subaru-Kia, Burns Honda, Burns Pontiac-GMC, Burns Hyundai and Avalon Honda. Mary Jane Salvato of Colonial Motors has partnered with the Somerset County Vocational & Technical School’s Foundation and the Rotary Club of Branchburg to create a program aimed at raising community awareness about the importance of vocational education for businesses, including automotive dealerships.The program called, “You’re Hired,”will offer judged skills competitions, job fairs, motivational and industry speakers, tours of businesses, job shadowing, and opportunities for apprenticeships.
