Two students from Hunterdon County Polytech were recently sponsored by NJCAR in the National Automotive Technical Competition at New York City’s Jacob Javitz Center on April 21-23, 2014. Designated “Team Nissan,” Christian Mirabito and Joe Cerny (both seniors) measured, scoped and diagnosed their way through the two-day event. Both Christian and Joe received vehicle-specific training from Jack Albert, Service Manager at Flemington Nissan, who also provided the vehicle to the school for pre-competition practice.The Coalition also wishes to thank Flemington Nissan Technician Mike Collett, Polytech Instructor Chris Scheuerman and Zack Szenics, a Polytech graduate and Technician at Flemington Ford, who assisted the students during the preparation and were both on-hand at the competition.NJ CAR hopes all dealers will continue to support automotive technical education and help prepare the next generation of technicians.
