In Bulletin #9 (May 21, 2013), NJ CAR published a story regarding the Community Blood Council of NewJersey’s efforts to replenish the blood supply of hospitals throughout NewJersey. The organization reached out to businesses all over the State, including the State’s 515 franchised car and truck retailers.NJ CAR is proud to recognize the five dealerships who have responded to the Council’s call and will be hosting blood drives over the next two months. The Council will provide all the materials necessary to promote the dealership’s blood drive to the community.According to the Council, NewJersey is the lowest donor state in the nation, with only 3% of the State’s population donating blood, and many of them only once each year. This is not nearly enough for hospitals to respond to regular transfusion needs, not to mention the influx created by unexpected emergencies.
