This 90-minute Webinar will review three areas of State and federal regulations, which have specific provisions governing automotive service facilities and retail automotive service departments. New Jersey’s consumer protection regulations include specific requirements governing estimates and approvals, as well as rules addressing when an estimate must be in writing, when it may be given, and how it must be approved. The issue of charging “environmental” or “shop” fees and providing warranty information will also be addressed. The Webinar will also cover the unique wage and hour requirements for service techs and service advisors under federal law. Finally, there will be a discussion of common Sales Tax questions that affect Service Departments, including Sales Tax exemptions and Sales Tax audit issues.The cost of the Webinar is $49 per connection for NJ CAR Dealer Members.
