NJ CAR is proud to announce that Melinda (Mindy) K. Holman, President and CEO of Holman Automotive, was recently selected as New Jersey’s 2013 TIME Dealer of the Year (TDOY) Award winner. The TDOY recognizes new vehicle dealers in the United States for exceptional performance in their dealerships, combined with distinguished community service.
Nominations for the TIME Dealer of the Year Award are submitted by NJ CAR members, and a winner is chosen by the NJ CAR Awards Nominating Committee, made up of the sitting Chairman and all past winners of this prestigious honor. A nominee must be a member of NADA and NJ CAR for at least five years. The individual should spend at least 60% of his or her time involved in dealership affairs. Ms. Holman will represent New Jersey in the National competition, which takes place at the NADA Convention in Orlando, Florida in February 2013.
Melinda joined her family’s company as an intern in 1986, representing the third generation of the family-owned and operated business. By 1988, she was F&I Manager at Holman Lincoln Mercury, advancing to General Manager of Holman Hyundai in 1989 and General Manager of Saturn of Mount Laurel in 1991. In January 1994, she was named Vice Chairwoman of Holman Enterprises, a position she held until February of 2002, when she was named President and Vice Chairwoman of Holman Enterprises. Two years later, in May 2004, her position expanded to include the Chief Executive Officer role, the leadership position she has held for the past eight years. Holman Automotive is comprised of both consumer and commercial automotive businesses, including 22 automotive dealerships in southern New Jersey and southeast Florida.
