Students Compete In National Technical Competition

Apr 02, 2008

Last week, NJ CAR proudly sponsored two student technicians in the National Automotive Technical Competition held at the Jacob Javitz Center, March 24–27, 2008 in New York City. This year’s team, designated “Team Mercedes-Benz,” was made up of Ryan Lettieri and James Ham, both seniors at Hunterdon County Polytech.

Their Polytech instructor, Dennis Sienicki, oversaw their preparation for the event and was on-hand for the competition. The boys received vehicle-specific training from Vince Ratti, Kip Leming and Doug Parks, Shop Foremen at Mercedes-Benz of Princeton, who also provided a vehicle to the school for the team to practice on. The Mercedes-Benz New York Region Technical and Product Education Specialist, James Scheuermann, also provided assistance.

Both Ryan and James performed well in the competition. NJ CAR asks that all dealers join the Coalition in applauding their efforts and representing New Jersey so well.
